Hey there Schleima, sorry I didn't find this post earlier. I own the Cartographer's Notebook and am happy to share any measurements or answer any questions about it. To start with the ones you have already asked. The Notebook is printed entirely on A4 paper (21mm x 29.7mm), with metal rings at the top, the outside cover is printed on nicer glossy card stock (I'd guess 50lb), then there are 40 double sided pages of good weight (20lb+) with a sturdy cardboard backboard (3mm). My group has mapped the entire surface of the continent and almost every island (Just Base, No Mini-Expansions ... yet) and have only taken up about 14 pages, both sides, so I am in no real worry about room. Things are hectic right now, so photos will come later.

To Summarize:

Specifications
- 21mm x 29.7mm (Standard A4 Paper)
- 40 pages of charts
- 20lb charts
- Good backboard

Practicality/Notes
- Full base game ~ 35%
- Fits about a zone a page
- Plenty of room for expansions, room for the game to double and then some
- I recommend using the first page as an entire continent map (once you have disovered it) because the weakest thing for me is that it's really hard to denote which maps connect to which and how. Can be done, but difficult. Having one master map on a single page that is just about connections, I highly recommend.

Huh, I hadn't thought of that, I'm ashamed to say. I did end up just ironing the damn thing, and it helped, it's now playable. But the center still looks funky, flat enough for cards, but still has remnants of the old kinks and the edges lift in little area's. I've just left it coiled in a shipping tube when not playing, but I'll probably give it some more compression time.
Such a shame that you haven't had time to play it. Loads of fun, we're almost done with the Voracious Goddess. Makes me want more games like this.

Is anyone else having serious trouble getting the hard kinks in the playmat out? It came in a squared box, and so was folded and not rolled, and sat that way for ages before arriving at my door. Unfortunately the kinks are so strong you can't even put a card anywhere on the entire center column of the play area because the card just flounders and slides off to the next tile. I've tried the following:

- The day I got it I pressed it flat under books for 2 days, almost no effect.
- Rolled it up against the kink and stored it in a shipping tube for over a week, no effect.
- Then I used a hairdrier and left several rather heavy boxes on it, some minor reduction, still looks horrible.
- Next on my list is a hot iron covered by a thin towel, but I am hesitant because I really don't want to ruin it.

So, before I did that, I wanted to ask you all in the forums for any help or suggestions. Anyone in a similar boat, or have a solution?
